
FORT PIERCE, FL -- A Florida teen is facing serious charges after biting a police officer.
15-year-old Shelwanda Riley battery, resisting an officer and obstruction of justice.
Her arresting officer's dashboard camera captured the violent confrontation during a July arrest for a curfew violation.
Fort Pierce Police Chief Sean Baldwin says he believes his officer used the appropriate force when he punched the teenager and then used pepper spray after he was bitten by Riley.
Baldwin added that he does not expect his officers to stand by and allow suspects to bite them.
