PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A judge sentenced a 44-year-old Palm Coast man for child sex crimes he committed in Putnam County.
Michael Eric Canaday was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexual activity with a child and 15 years in prison for molesting a child in Putnam County, according to a news release from the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida State Attorney R.J. Larizza. The sentences will run concurrently.
Canday received his sentence Monday in Circuit Judge Carloes Mendoza's courtroom.
In August a Putnam County jury convicted Canaday of lewd or lascivious molestation of a child between the age of 12 and 16 years old, a second degree felony; and sexual activity with a child, a first degree felony, Larizza said.
Larizza said Canaday would go into the child's bedroom in a Putnam County home, wake up the child and then molest her.
