JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Milford Shirley has caught the Jacksonville flying bug.

"There are airports all over Jacksonville," Shirley said.

A 10-year hobby born out of a keeping up with the Joneses situation.

"I got involved in flying because the neighbor kid started to get his pilot's license, and it just killed me."

He got his license, a share of a Cherokee 180 plane and decided to scream his love of flying from the mountain tops through a radio show -- "Flight Time Radio."

Shirley and flying buddy Charlie Willworth have broadcast, YouTube and podcast their show for 4 years.

"Don't listen to the early ones, they're terrible, we've gotten way better as we've gone along," Shirley said.

"The show airs Saturdays at 1 p.m. on WBOB 600 AM. But go ahead flip around the other Jacksonville stations, hey search the world. You won't find another show like it. 1... Only one in the world that's on broadcast radio."

It's so popular with pilots globally, they guys get invited each year to broadcast live from the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.

"We said let us think about it ... Yes!"

They go D.C. this weekend by airplane to do the show, carrying the proof that the flying bug bit hard.

"I get goosebumps just thinking about it."
