JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting to discuss increasing turn lanes at Butler and Hodges Boulevards.
The additional lanes would be added to reduce congestion on the exit ramps.
The public meeting will be held on June 21 from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the Wingate by Wyndham located at 4791 Windsor Commons Court in Jacksonville.
FDOT is planning to add an additional left turn lane to the eastbound off ramp of Butler Boulevard to Hodges Boulevard.
Also included in the plan is the addition of a continuous right turn lane at the westbound exit ramp from Butler to northbound Hodges Boulevard. The continuous lane would end at Sutton Park Drive.
Both improvements are designed to reduce the traffic backing up onto Butler Boulevard through lanes.
Construction bids will open in early 2013. Right now, FDOT officials estimate the project will cost $1.1 million. It should take crews about six months to complete the work.
For more information on the public meeting, or the project, call the FDOT Public Information Office at 800-749-2967, extension 3714.
