JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Today hundreds of veterans looking for work will head to Everbank Field to connect with companies that want to hire them.

The RecruitMilitary Jacksonville Veterans Job Fair features about fifty companies interested in hiring veterans.

One of those companies is Home Depot.

Tami Swain will be recruiting applicants for Jacksonville's eleven area stores, which almost all have a current job opening.

Swain is a veteran herself.  She joined Home Depot after serving as a submarine mechanic in the Navy.

"There's a sense of pride, you know, that we're giving back to our country," explained Swain.  "The veterans pay a price for their service whether they're deployed overseas or even stay at home service and there is a sense of pride that we have, you know, helped make not only their service life, their family's service life easier."

Swain said she looks for applicants who are outgoing and service-oriented.

"An excellent work ethic, leadership skills, the desire to serve others and that fits the military to a T," shared Swain.

The job fair runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. inside the East Club  at Everbank Field.
