SAN FRANCISCO --  Exit polls are so 2008. This election year, it's all about the social network - specifically, Facebook.

Data from the website is being collected and shared by SocialBakers.com, a site known for crunching online data.

"It's unsolicited, it's very true to the heart," said Katrina Wong, the vice president of marketing at SocialBakers.com.

As of Monday, the company says that Ron Paul has the most "viral reach" of the GOP candidates, Rick Perry is seen as the "most engaging" candidate and Rick Santorum has the fastest growing fan base.

"This is kind of the cutting edge of public opinion research," said Melinda Jackson, of San Jose State University's Survey and Policy Research Institute.
