RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Two top state elections officials want an
investigation of $235,000 in donations to dozens of North Carolina
candidates from a sweepstakes cafe operator.
New campaign finance records are showing that those linked to an alleged gambling scandal pumped nearly $100,000 into campaign accounts this year.
The operators of two Broward County arcades have filed a lawsuit seeking to block enforcement of part of new law banning simulated slot machines or other casino-style games.
A city ordinance required all Jacksonville
internet cafes to have a security guard officer present and now that a
statewide law has shutdown all cafes, many of those officers are also
out of work.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The recent ban on internet cafes has put thousands
in Florida out of work. Dozens on the First Coast gathered at a
Northside Worksource office to rally and file for unemployment.
An extradition hearing has been delayed for an Oklahoma man indicted in Florida over an alleged illegal gambling ring.
