Pregnant mom and child kidnapped, imprisoned for unborn baby

Three people are accused of kidnapping a pregnant woman and her 2-year-old child, then keeping them as prisoners for several weeks in an effort to take the woman's unborn baby. WHEC's Berkeley Brean reports.

(WHEC-NBC)  Three people are in a Rochester, New York jail, accused of kidnapping a pregnant woman and her 2-year-old child, then keeping them prisoner in an effort to take the woman's unborn child.

According to the police reports, Jillianne and Joshua Mencel and William Geer kept the pregnant mother "in an alarmed room with sealed windows for a period of several weeks, during which time they repeatedly hit and choked her, pulled out chunks of her hair, and repeatedly threatened to kill her and her unborn child."

Rochester Police say this happened sometime between June 3rd and August 1st, 2016.

Even though neighbors say they heard screaming all the time and called 911 in early August, it wasn't until someone called 911 to say there was a man with a gun inside the house, that police entered the house and found the victim in her locked room.
