Gainesville Police looking for man accused of sexually assaulting woman

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gainesville Police Department is currently looking for Christopher Gonzalez-Cruz. 

Police say Cruz is accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old after the two met at a bar Saturday night. 

According to reports, Cruz met the victim inside Grog House and the two later left the bar to make out inside of a vehicle. 

That's when police say Cruz forced the woman to have sexual intercourse against her will. The victim became emotional and began to cry and yell.

Cruz decided to leave the area and drove away quickly. UPD saw the vehicle speeding away and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Cruz fled the area on foot, police say. 

 Officers and investigators have attempted to locate Cruz since the incident without success.  He faces charges of sexual battery when located.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call GPD at 352-955-1818 or text keyword GPDFL plus a tip to 274637.
