Police: Jacksonville father shot and killed in possible home invasion

One person shot in possible home invasion

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible home invasion gone wrong in the Northwest side of Jacksonville. 

The shooting happened at a home on V C Johnson Rd. 

Police say three people live in the home that was involved, two adults and one child. At this time the age of the child is unknown. 

Police say they received a call about a person trying to break into a home. When they arrived, they found an occupant of the home dead from a gunshot wound.

Police believe the father answered the door and that's when he was shot. At this time police are not sure if the shooter and victims knew each other. 

A description of the suspect(s) is unknown at this time but if anyone has any information they are asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
