New figures show 40% of the people who get food through Second Harvest are members of working families. In the Jacksonville area one in four children is uncertain where their next meal will come from. Thats 117,000 children. In all, 342,000 people in the Jacksonville are “food insecure,” unsure how and where their next meal will come from every day. The Empty Bowls Luncheon was held at the Prime Osborn Convention Center Tuesday to help raise awareness and money to combat the issue.
