Van crashes into home, kills teen sleeping inside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Investigators with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office confirmed a 17-year-old girl has died after a vehicle slammed into her bedroom while she was asleep. According to police at the scene, the driver of a minivan was traveling down Barnes Road, went through a stop sign, before slamming into the house at 5501 Kennerly Road around 2:40 a.m. 17-year-old Janay Jackson was sleeping when the van came crashing into her bedroom. Investigators said she died at the hospital from her injuries. Jackson was a senior at Wolfson High School. Her father said she was going to graduate number four in her class this year. Janay's father said his daughter wanted to go to college to become a nurse.
