First Coast News says thank you and goodbye to outgoing GM

There were a lot of hugs, smiles and maybe a tear or two today as we wished goodbye to First Coast News president and general manager Dodie Cantrell-Bickley.

A portion of the newsroom was turned into a makeshift tropical getaway Friday afternoon as the staff shared food, music, stories and good times.

Cantrell-Bickley is retiring to finish up work on a book, take on volunteer projects and to spend more time with her husband and family.

Cantrell-Bickley joined First Coast News about four years ago from WMAZ-TV, the Gannett-owned CBS Affiliate in Macon, GA. Previously she served as News Director at WMAZ. Prior to that, she was executive producer for WMAZ and had a number of on-air roles that included investigative and consumer reporter.
