ST. AUGUSTINE -- A large semi snapped a power pole on the west side of N. Ponce De De Leon Blvd at the intersection of Saragossa St., forcing police to shut down the road in both directions for about a third of a mile during the lunch hour.
N. Ponce De Leon Boulevard was closed between King Street and Castillo Drive, according to Phil Whitley, a First Coast News freelance reporter at the scene. The accident happened around 11:25 a.m. The semi was transporting equipment to a work site at the San Sebastian Bridge. Our news partner, The St. Augustine Record, reports the roadway was reopened to traffic around 1:10 p.m.
