VILANO BEACH, Fla. -- A Vilano Beach staple has now found a new nest. The Vilano Beach Blue Bird, a piece of Vilano's history, will now call the Vilano Beach Pier its home. The sculpture has been in the small beach town a while. Originally painted orange the bird changed its feathers to blue 25 years ago. Now that it's been restored it will be a photo opportunity for visitors to Vilano. Similar to the Key West buoy marking the southernmost point of the U.S. the hope is that people will stop to take their picture with the bird that proclaims, "Happiness is Vilano Beach, Florida."
