JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Thunderstorms have been tracking through Tallahassee and Valdosta Monday afternoon.
The front has been slowing up and rain is not expected to reach coastal Georgia until after 8 tonight.
Rain will develop around Jacksonville after 10 p.m.
Thunderstorms are possible but the rain will weaken as it presses east.
Early morning showers could cover southern areas in Putnam and southern St. Johns counties Tuesday morning.
Fog could be thick in spots that receive rain.
Severe storms are not expected because of nighttime stability and a jet streak moving away over the Carolinas.
Cooler mid to low 70s will linger through the week, with lows in the 40s and 50s. No freezes anytime soon. After tonight no rain is expected at least through the weekend.
