JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Showers with possible thunderstorms are on the way this afternoon. This is the southern end of the big Midwest storm that produced thirteen tornadoes across Texas, Louisiana and Missouri.

Two deaths in Missouri are being blamed on the storms.

Late this morning a tornado hit Pensacola, knocking out power and drenching the streets with several inches of rain.[Panhandle Tornadoes: Pensacola News Journal Coverage]

Our shower chances increase as we move toward the afternoon rush.

The best chance for thunderstorms will be near Waycross and out toward Lake city.

But most of us will see showers today.

On Friday, a front pushes through Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

During the early evening we could see squall line developing over S.E. Georgia. After the front passes, the weekend looks dry. We could se another round of showers Monday.
