JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A tropical wave will cross south Florida tonight and Thursday morning leading to an influx of moisture to generate rain over the next several days.
Scattered pockets of rain and sun showers will move westward today.
Interior afternoon thunderstorms will develop west of Highway 301 and head to I-75.
This pattern will continue Thursday and Friday with an increase in coverage.
Over the weekend the steering winds switch southwest and late afternoon storms will have a greater effect on the metro area and coastal regions.
Storms today may bring hail to inland areas due to very dry air in the mid levels of the atmosphere.
