JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Jeff Prosser couldn't get off the bench. Dan Hicken couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Sheriff John Rutherford put both First Coast News sportscasters to shame on Sunday afternoon as he became the first "11th Man" to score for the Jacksonville Jam.
The sheriff hit not one, but two three-pointers in the Jam's win over Orlando.
This is the first season for the Jacksonville Jam of the ABA. At each of their home games this season, the team has had a local celebrity serve as the team's "11th Man."
Jeff, Dan, Artis Gilmore, Santa Claus, Rashean Mathis, and the rest of the 11th men this season have scored a combined total of zero points, but John Rutherford was on fire from beyond the arc as he made both of his three-point attempts.
