JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Stephanie Donelan is a senior at Stanton. She believes that giving back to her communinty is the responsibility of every citizen. And she lives that belief every day.

Whether Stephanie in mentoring a young child, helping to fight cancer, or trying to reach across racial boundries, her time is devoted to helping others.

Intelligence, responsibility, compassion and tolerance all add up to Stephanie Donelan, a young woman who is a treasure to her community.

For two years, Stephanie has been mentoring a young girl at the Malavai Washington Foundation. She visits every week to help with homework.

The program is appropriately called Huggs. It stands for Helping Unique Guys and Girls Succeed. And it's just one on a long list of things she does to help out the community.

"I got involved in the relay for life, which is an event sponsored by the American Cancer Society, because my sister works there," she said.

All this while she carries a 3.9 GPA. Stephanie will accept a full scholarship at the University of Central Florida, but she says not matter what path she takes, she'll never stop giving back.

"I definitely plan on staying involved," she said.

For this and so much more, Stephanie Donelan is one of the 12 Kids Who Care.

Stephanie says she wants to do some traveling but wants to eventually settle back here in Jacksonville -- and that's great news for all of us.
