JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The First Coast is seeing a break in the rainy weather. But this dry spell will only last for today. Storms will rumble into town tomorrow afternoon. Even more storms are likely Friday through the weekend.

St. Augustine had a heat index of 102 degrees Wednesday afternoon. Many other spots including the Arlington area and Orange Park felt like 100 degrees. Expect hazy hot weather with only a 20% or less chance of rain for the rest of the day.

Thursday's temps will be even hotter with a warm landbreeze from the west. We should start to see storms pop late in the afternoon with a 60% chance of rain. Skies will be sunny in the morning.
