CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. -- While there are numerous vets in Jacksonville, we are also remembering and recognizing the veterans in Camden County, Ga.

David Pipes is a Vietnam War veteran. He said he retired from the naval base in Kings Bay, Ga., in 1995.

"I served 24 years in the Navy, in the submarine force," said Pipes.

Camden County has a large veteran community. And Wednesday, some of those veterans and their families came together for lunch.

"It's a time to socialize together and have comradeship with one another, and to fellowship in general."

They said the luncheon was set up to honor veterans who have already served in a war, and for those who are stationed overseas, protecting the rights and liberties throughout the world.
