JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Artwalk honors the U.S. military today at its monthly event.

Adrian Pickett, who is an artist who works in charcoal, pastel and acrylic media, has an exhibit opening tonight at the AT&T Tower, 301 W. Bay St. The gallery will be open from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

First Wednesday Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour of Downtown galleries and museums, cultural venues, restaurants and businesses, according to the website of Downtown Vision Inc. which produces the event.

It's held monthly from 5 to 9 p.m. -- rain or shine in a 15-block radius of the Downtown core and is an  opportunity to savor Jacksonville's pool of creative talent. Some venues close at 8 p.m. or stay open later.

The garage at Clay and Adams offers free parking.
