JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A group of students at Wolfson High School have been working hard for months to make their school look better, and they are our 'Students of the Week.'
The group of seniors is considered Leadership, Senior Network. So far this year, they have gathered over 100 community hours each. They volunteer their time on all sorts of projects around the school.
They mentor other students during lunch and work with young children. They also host festivals and tailgating activities at the school.
They even painted Wolfson Stadium.
"We took the paint and painted Wolfpack Way. We painted the stadium stairs and the lower bottom of the stadium," said student Brandon Harris.
Together the students painted the bottom of the stadium red and all the stairs blue. They got started even before the start of the school year.
"We've been working and working since before school in the summer. We have done so much and we want so much more to happen," said student Aviela Welcman.
Soraya Lakatos is the Student Activities Director at Wolfson. This is her first year at this school and she nominated this group of seniors for Student of the Week because she is impressed with all their hard work.
"We did a lot of stuff over the summer to get prepared for the school year. We decorated the school. The spirit was high just having that in the hallway and it made me know these were very special and a unique group of kids."
All their hardwork is something to cheer about at this chool and what they've left behind will remain long after their gone.
The students say they've only scratched the surface and they have a lot more they hope to accomplish before the end of the school year.
