WASHINGTON (AP) -- The government today is slated to release figures on September new home sales. Analysts look for a gain of 2.6 percent. Analysts fear that recent improvement in the housing market won't be sustained if a tax credit for first-time homebuyers expires at the end of November.
Also this morning, the government reports on September orders for durable goods.
