WASHINGTON (AP) -- Another busy week for economic data is on tap, beginning with tomorrow's reading on consumer confidence from the Conference Board. Also tomorrow, the S&P/Case Shiller home price index will give an indication whether home prices are stabilizing.

Wednesday, the Commerce Department releases new home sales for September, with an increase forecast.

The first reading on growth in the third quarter comes next week, and analysts look for growth of more than 3 percent, suggesting an end to the recession. That reading is scheduled for Thursday.
