NEW YORK (AP) -- A late-session push lifted stocks into positive territory. Surging energy stocks helped to compensate for weakness in financial shares. After the closing bell, IBM, Google and Advanced Micro Devices all reported better than expected earnings reports.
The Dow rose 47 points to 10,063. The S&P was up nearly 5 points and the Nasdaq gained a point.
Before the opening bell, the Federal Reserve today releases industrial production numbers for September.
