BRUNSWICK, GA -- A special memorial Sunday night in Glynn County. 8 people were remembered following that mass slaying at a mobile home community near Brunswick.

One by one, candles were lit as people in the small community gathered to honor the memory of those killed.

The mother of 4 of the victim's killed says this community support helps her grieve; even as the 9th victim of the mass slaying still recovers in the hospital.

"This was my family, my kids. Joe was my family. This was my family too all of them," said Diane Isenhour.

Guy Heinz Junior is charged in all 8 murders. He's a relative of 7 of the victims found killed in what police say is the most gruesome crime scene they've seen in years.

Ty Shawn Jones is a relative of the 8th victim, Joseph West, and believes West was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Hurting Families with Children in Crime is based out of Duval County and organized this vigil in Brunswick to bring the families together.

"We've been supporting the families. We were here for the funeral. We've been traveling back and forth and decided to put on this candle light vigil today," said Executive Director Linda Dayson.

Isenhour says it helps to know so many people on the First Coast care. "I (feel) loved because I lost 4 babies and about lost my grandson."

Glynn County District Attorney Stephen Kelley won't go into too much detail about the evidence in the case. However, Kelley says there is enough evidence to ask jurors for the death penalty if Heinze is found guilty.
