JACKSONVILLE, FL -- This is a story really have to WATCH. Click on the video to see the clever, crazy, and sweet creations some employees in downtown Jacksonville have made.
They're hero bras.
The Breast Cancer Crusaders, as they call themselves, have survivors among them. And they have a lot of spunk.
The women held an inter-officer contest to choose the top 3 winning Hero Bras. (Prizes include pizza and several nice perks at work.)
One of the judges was even a gentleman. He says he can't remember having a task like that before!
So hats off to Velma and Deborah and others with the Breast Cancer Crusaders!
Do you have a hero? Decorate a bra in honor of someone who fought breast cancer or just someone important to you.
The proceeds (suggested $10 donation per bra) go to our Mammogram Hotline so every woman can have a mammogram even if she can't afford it.
If you'd like to see your Hero Bra on TV email Jeannie Blaylock at jblaylock@firstcoastnews.com.
If you can't afford a mammogram, call our M-Line at 1-877-9-MY-MAMO.
The M-Line is a project of First Coast News and Komen for the Cure North Florida.
