NEW YORK (AP) -- Wall Street will test whether a rally can be extended into a third straight day. This, as investors brace for the flood of corporate earnings reports that will provide a fresh indication how companies are faring amid an economic recovery.

In the latest session, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 132 points, bringing its two-day advance to 244, as major stock indicators rose more than 1 percent.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 14 or 1.4 percent, to 1,055. The Nasdaq composite index rose 35 to 2,104.

Dow component Alcoa is to report its earnings today, the first of the group of 30 companies making up the stock index to do so.
