JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Want to help our servicemen and women stay connected with loved-ones while they are overseas? Well, there's an easy way to do so, and all it takes is your old cell phone.

Verizon Wireless is taking part is a program called Cell Phones for Soldiers. All you have to do is drop off your old cell phone at either of the 2 locations locally and Verizon will help turn those phones into minutes on a pre-paid phone card.

Every phone donated means about 30 minutes of talk time for a serviceman or woman.

The two drop-off locations locally are at the Verizon offices at 6337 Roosevelt Boulevard in Jacksonville and 6100 Highway 40 East in St. Marys, GA.
