JACKSONVILLE, FL -- City Councilman Johnny Gaffney knows a little bit more about crime after becoming a victim over the weekend.
The councilman's business property located on Restlawn Drive was burglarized, with Gaffney estimating the loss at $60,000.
"It makes you want to cry, yes. I had to shake my head," said Gaffney, standing outside the vacant business building that housed a beauty salon.
Police reports detail the losses that included two pool tables valued at $15,000 with several air conditioners also damaged and stripped of copper.
Inside the beauty salon, salon chairs were taken along with a washer and dryer. Two televisions are also missing and vending machines valued at $12,000 were damaged.
