JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Doctors never figured it out. Actually most just said "bad luck".
This is Amanda, perfectly healthy.
So when something went wrong, Kathi Reyes says "it was very scary. Her face twisted and started shaking. And she fell down."
Meningio-encyphalitis, from unknown origin.
Eight months go by. She's still in a coma.
Says Reyes, "I remember one doctor said it would take a bonafide miracle. The Pope. It's not going to happen."
But one day, it happened. She woke up.
"Yes, we do have a miracle."
A year in the hospital. Another year before she could walk. And now, ten years later, this miracle girl and her mom are out helping others.
They are the party queens at Dreams Come True.
They are craftiest people at Christmas. Halloween. They carved our logo in pumpkins once.
And today it's wrestlers. John Cena is the idol of little James.
He had a tumor by his eye the size of a ping pong ball.
His dream to meet Cena is coming true and his send-off party a homemade wrestling ring, thanks to mom and amanda.
Jame's family is grateful total strangers would care so much, especially after what they've been through.
Oh, and one more thing. "Amanda," says Jeannie Blaylock. "You do look like a movie star."
Amanda says, "oh my gosh, they tell me I look like Angelina Jolie. I don't believe them."
Well, you and your mom are stars to children who need a dream come true.
Congratulations for being one of 12 Who Care.
