JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Before becoming the public relations guru for the family business (Big Bike Motorcycles), Buddy Key worked with kids for 16 years.

From an A.P. science teacher, to a football and basketball coach, to an assistant high school principal, Buddy had a blast shaping young minds.

That's why he is thrilled to have the opportunity to use his skills connecting with kids, and combining his knowledge of motorcycles.

Using the big bikes as a learning tool, Buddy helps teach kids his own children's age (11 and 15) how to apply the lessons they learn in school to a pretty cool business.

By bringing the coolest motorcycles to students in some of the toughest neighborhoods, Buddy has seen kids' eyes light up when realizing the math, comprehension and social skills they're learning could help them make a great living while having fun.

Check out the video news story on this web page on Buddy's strategy to keep encouraging kids to stay in school.

This weekend, he's teaming up with Mad Dads, a local organization dedicated to combating crime by connecting with kids and communities on the First Coast.

Mad Dads is sponsoring a Ride for Life this weekend, and you're invited!

Expect a day of flashy rides and roaring motors as bikers wind their way from Lonnie Miller Park, located at 7689 Price Lane. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the ride gets underway at 10 a.m.

If you don't ride, but want to be involved in a worthy cause, there will also be food and a free concert.

The cost to participate in the ride is $20 per rider and $5 per passenger. The money benefits Mad Dads of Jacksonville.
