Meet the Bachelor and the Preacher: Two Finalists

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Meet Shawn and Walter, two guys who are working hard already to win our own local version of the hit NBC show, "Biggest Loser."

Shawn is a local pastor who already has high blood pressure, Type II diabetes, and sleep apnea.

He also just lost a good buddy who was significantly overweight. His friend, also just 39, dropped over from a massive coronary, Shawn says.

Shawn says that "hit him like a ton of bricks" and motivated him to stay alive for his family.

Walter says he's already making changes. He's discovered a salad with salt and pepper tastes great, even though he admits the chicken from McDonald's has been his favorite.

Walter says he has battled a weight problem his entire life. Now he's praying he'll be given the "strength" to stick with his new exercise and nutrition routine.

Both men have a terrific attitude, even though they like to joke their trainer at Bailey's is a "torture master."

Actually their trainer, Corey, is pulling for his team of two (Walter and Shawn) and competing against other Bailey trainers. No one wants his or her contestants to be eliminated.

However, this coming week the first person from the 12 finalists group will be x'd out of the contest. It's based on percentage of body weight lost.

The winner, to be announced in December, will win new clothes, a $1000 gift card to Whole Foods, and all sorts of nice prizes.

Best of all, the goal is to encourage all the finalists to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
