JACKSONVILLE, FL -- With city parks too wet to mow, many park workers were out clearing drains and drainage ditches.
About 400 city workers were slogging through debris and vegetation Thursday, trying to clear many of the 5,000 miles of open ditches and 59,000 drain structures.
Wednesday's downpours flooded many areas because previous rainfall had soaked the earth throughout Northeast Florida.
