GLYNN COUNTY, GA -- The only man arrested so far in connection with the brutal slayings of eight people in a Brunswick mobile home was in court this morning.
Guy Heinze, Jr. had his bond hearing before a judge, and learned he is now being held on $20,000 bond.
The judge told Heinze that if he makes bail, he will be under house arrest, meaning he can only leave home to go to work, and he must wear an ankle monitor at all times.
Heinze will also be subjected to routine drug testing.
The judge's ruling was not challenged by either side.
"I think it was fair, just and will satisfy any concerns of the police, myself or prosecutors in the case," says Heinze's attorney Ron Harrison.
Harrison says Heinze denies involvement in the murders and is still cooperating with police.
"He looked distraught, lost. He doesn't know what to do, what to think right now," says family friend Ashley Strickland.
Strickland says the community and the family just want some answers.
There is no word yet on when Heinze will next be in court.
