JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Students are now back in school and our Teacher of the Week segment is also back. Since students are just now getting to know their new teachers, we decided to check in on Duval County's Teacher of the Year.

Majorie Nolan rarely sits still. As the Reading Coach at First Coast High School, she works with both students and teachers. "She's so positive and energetic about everything. She's a wonderful person, a wonderful teacher," says reading teacher Castoria Clark.

Nolan works with nine intensive reading teachers at the high school, giving them ideas on how to better teach their students and what books to read. "We think sometimes that reading instruction stops when you get out of elementary school, but you never stop learning to read," said Nolan.

Her office is filled with books and all sorts of material about reading, and it's hard to miss the plaque on the wall honoring her as Duval County's Teacher of the Year. "I've been a finalist 2 previous times and maybe they felt this time it was the luck of the draw," said Nolan.

"She's a walking library. She's very resourceful and doesn't mind sharing her wealth of knowledge with you," said Clark.

Nolan has been teaching for 31 years, and now with the start of the new school year, she's making it 32.
