JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Gary Robeson was in a Toyota dealership trying to cash in on cash for clunkers.
"We're getting close, if we can get the final numbers," says Roberson.
Roberson is trading in his 1999 Dodge 1500 pickup, for a 2010 Toyota Tundra.
"I heard the deadline was Monday and decided to try and get in under the deadline,' says Roberson. He was not the only one. Harley Strickland was trying to beat the deadline.
Strickland says, "I've been thinking about it for two days and decided to make a move before Monday."
Strickland is dumping his 1992 Cadillac DeVille for a Toyota Yaris. Clausen Morrell is General Sales manager at Keith Pierson Toyota.
"We are expecting a big turn out this weekend," says Morrell.
Morrell says the program has been a success.
"We have sold about 80 vehicles under Cash for Clunkers, I think it came at the right time. It has been a shot in the arm," says Morrell.
Morrell says his dealership will be rolling out the red carpet to last minute shoppers.
