MIDDLEBURG, FL -- Residents that live on Falcon Run Road says it's like riding a roller coaster. "There are holes five feet deep in the water," says Sam Thompson.

Thompson and his neighbors are frustrated.

"We've done everything in our power to work on this road," says Debra Gaynes.

They say they can't receive their mail, and if there was a true emergency, a rescue vehicle would not be able to reach them. Near the Gaynes home, the bridge is completely washed out.

"We have to walk across a plank to get from one side to the other," says Gaynes. They've asked the county for help.

"We're not asking for a handout, why can't they make it a MSBU (Municipal Service Benefit Unit)?" ask Sam Thompson.

The residents recently spent thousands of dollars to build the bridge and though it would last 30 years, but it didn't. Now they will have to spend money again to restore it.

They would like the county to begin maintaining the road, and they're willing to deed the road to the county. "This is an emergency," says Debra Gaynes.

But the county attorney says the process of a MSBU takes time.

This would allow the county to impose a special assessment on the residents of Falcon Run Road to maintain the road.

Over 50 families live on the washed out weather beaten road and they would like to see it improved before the next rains.
