ISLAMORADA, FL (AP) -- Authorities say two people have died in separate diving accidents in the Florida Keys while hunting for lobsters. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Brian Harlin of Brandon was diving in the Indian Key Channel with his family. He struggled to keep afloat in strong current. CPR was performed on the boat, but authorities say Harlin was pronounced dead at a hospital. In Summerland Key, 32-year-old Courtney Spikes of Trinity was lobster hunting in a canal when he screamed out that he was drowning. It took several minutes for him to be rescued. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. Thursday was the opening day of the regular lobster season. At least four divers died during Florida's two-day spiny lobster sport season last month.
