JACKSONVILLE, FL -- We have some heroes working hard to make sure every woman gets a mammogram, even if she can't afford it.

And the bonus?

Both groups are teaching young people how to give. They've gone beyond just handing a kid a dollar and saying, "Put it in the donation box."

The groups raised Buddy Bucks for our Mammogram Hotline.

Every $100 means a free mammogram for an underserved woman, often someone without insurance.

At Philippian Community Church on the Northside, the kids attending the "Power For Developing Successful Youth, Inc" camp did chores at home -- from sweeping to doing dishes -- to earn money to donate.

And the Summerville Baptist Church chose to have young children through teenagers participate in their drive for Buddy Bucks. They are donating $510.00.

Click on the video to meet folks from both these groups. They're doing some awesome hero work.

So thanks to everyone becoming heroes to women all over our First Coast. It's a chance to catch breast cancer early and stay alive.

If you can't afford a mammogram, just call our M-Line at 1-877-9-MY-MAMO.

You might qualify for a totally free mammogram.
