JACKSONVILLE, FL -- If your family doesn't have enough food, what would you do?
Many families now are dealing with the shock of that reality.
Cathy is a Northside mom who's very proud of her children, including her basketball star; her son played for Raines.
Her son is dreaming of the NBA and he hopes he can someday improve his family's financial situation.
But for now Cathy is grateful to have donated food items from various food banks around town.
Second Harvest Food Bank is the distributor for more than 500 agencies on the First Coast.
So we're holding a big BE A HERO FOOD DRIVE to help Second Harvest restock the shelves.
Friday, July 17th and Saturday, July 18th we'll be at the Town Center and Orange Park malls, plus other locations listed on our website.
Come give food items for local families.
And if you've been following the tough situation of the family with triplets and two other children, thank you for your generous show of support.
The best way to help them is to bring items, including diapers, if you choose, to the food drive. Just label your donation for "the triplet family" and we'll make sure they have enough. Extra items will go to other families in need.
