CLAY COUNTY, FL -- Two 19-year-olds are in the Clay County jail charged with armed robbery in connection with two home invasion robberies, one in Orange Park, the other on Fleming Island.
The teens have been identified as Dominique Hall and Hugh Pickens, both from Jacksonville.
The pair were arrested yesterday afternoon after a Fleming Island resident got a good description of their car.
They were caught a few miles away from Fleming Island, where authorities say a homeowner and a construction worker were held at gunpoint while doing renovation work in Eagle Harbor.
No one was injured in either of the robberies, says Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler.
Beseler says last week two people were robbed after making an ATM withdrawal and being followed home.
He says the robberies point out how times have changed.
"One had a shotgun, one had a handgun -- a semi-automatic handgun. When you are looking down the barrel of a shotgun, that is being heavily armed."
Beseler adds that the two teenagers are also being investigated for similar robberies in neighboring Duval County.
