JACKSONVILLE, FL -- On this rainy afternoon, you will find the Bowmans sticking it out at home rather than on the road.
That's because last Friday, Valerie Bowman and six of her eleven children were on Interstate 95 when lightning hit near their car.
"All of a sudden I saw sparks in front of my car and a big boom, and the kids started hollering 'the window is broke.'"In a split second after the family says they saw the sparks and heard the boom, the side window shattered.
Six-year-old Sydney Bowman was sitting right next to it. "I didn't see it. I just heard it," she says of the lightning.
Luckily no one was hurt, but the Bowmans were a little rattled. "God really protected us."
The repairs to the window cost the Bowman's $400.
