JACKSONVILLE BEACH, FL -- Investigators in Jacksonville Beach are looking for a man who is accused of sexually assaulting and robbing a 92-year-old woman. The man as described as being in his thirties, scruffy looking, and wearing a red ball cap. Police say the woman stepped out of her home 1st Avenue North Saturday night to watch the fireworks at the beach. The woman told police she thinks her attacker slipped into her home shortly after she walked out the front door at around 9:15 p.m. She came home about thirty minutes later and the man attacked her. "It's very sad," said Jacksonville Beach Sgt. Mark Evans. "Very sad in describing what happened to an active 92-year-old woman. "They assaulted her, covered her mouth, [she] blanked out at that point, and when she came to the suspect was already gone," he added. Investigators want to hear from anyone who may have seen something. Police admit there were a lot of cars parked in her neighborhood with hundreds of people going to the beach for the holiday festivities Saturday night. The attacker also took some personal items and a small amount of cash. Call our partner First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS. You'll remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your information leads to an arrest.
