JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Many people are making plans for the 4th of July. Some will go to cookouts. Others will hang out by the pool. Many will probably see the fireworks light up the night sky over Downtown Jacksonville.

If you plan to head Downtown, there is another option when it comes to seeing the fireworks show. You can take a cruise on the St. Johns River and then see the show.

S.S. Marine Taxi will have three or four boats running Saturday night. Tracee Karolewicz, Office Manager at S.S. Marine Taxi, says you can have a front row seat to the fireworks show. She told First Coast News it is often difficult to find a spot along the river, so being on the boat is a great option.

Karolewicz says the marine taxi will leave the Chart House/Wyndham Hotel at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. She suggests people get there by 7:15 p.m.

The boat will cruise along the river. Those on the boat will see Downtown and many other areas when it is light outside. Then, as they make their way around the river, Karolewicz says they will get a different perspective as night falls.

The boat will come back into Downtown and dock. Passengers can stay on the boat and watch the fireworks at 9:45 p.m. or get off and watch on land.

Karolewicz told us snacks and drinks will be available for riders. She says they can also bring a cooler and their own snacks.

The cost for the Fireworks Cruise is as follows: Adults - $25, Seniors - $22, Children - $15 and Children 3 and under - Free.

Karolewicz says now is the time to make your reservation online. She says the boat fills up quickly.
