YUMA, AZ (AP) -- Rapper Lil Wayne is due in an Arizona court today to answer to face drug possession and weapons charges.
Today's appearance is for a status conference in the case. In January of last year, the rap star was busted at a border checkpoint 78 miles east of Yuma, Arizona, after authorities say they found cocaine, Ecstasy and a handgun on his tour bus.
He faces one count each of possession of dangerous drugs, drug paraphernalia and weapons misconduct. Lil Wayne previously pleaded guilty to all charges. The rapper's attorney says he hopes to eventually get all the charges dropped.
