JACKSONVILLE BEACH, FL -- How many 19-year-olds do you know who have started their own non-profit organization? Get ready to really be impressed. Teen Jordan Carroll actually started Anglers for a Cure when he was only 16. The non-profit has raised more than $45,000 for colon cancer research. What's so cool about this teen's venture, is that he took a sport he and his dad always loved to do together and got fishermen across the First Coast and beyond to get involved. Jordan's father is what motivates the teen's mission. Watch my video news story on this web page to hear details about Doug Carroll's fight against stage-4 colorectal cancer. "Early detection is the key," Jordan stresses during our interview out at Sister's Creek Marina. That's the site of this weekend's Anglers for a Cure fishing tournament. Jordan and his best friend (and project co-founder) Matt Hahnemann promise a great time filled with weigh-ins and trophy ceremonies, good food and music from one of the best local bands around. There's still time for you to sign up to join in the fun. CLICK HERE to see the registration form and get directions.
