NEW YORK (AP) -- Not only is Adam Lambert admitting he's gay, he was rooming with the one guy on "American Idol" he thought was hot.
Lambert tells Rolling Stone it was "distracting" when he found out he was rooming with Kris Allen in the "Idol" mansion. He says Allen is "nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type -- except that he has a wife."
He says Allen is "open-minded and liberal, but he's definitely 100 percent straight." Lambert was open about his sexuality backstage on "Idol" and he figured people would talk, but he did not expect photos of him making out with people to surface.
He isn't interested in being a gay rights icon and he says he wants "to be a singer, not a civil rights leader."
